How to Add an Audiobook to Your Amazon Author Page

Step-by-step instructions for linking your audiobook to your Amazon Author Central page so readers can find all your book formats in one place.

Your Amazon Author Central page is one of the most important pieces of real estate you have as a self-published author. When a reader looks you up, this is where they see your complete catalog. If your audiobook is not linked to your author page, you are missing sales from readers who would have bought it if they knew it existed.

Why This Matters

Amazon connects Kindle, paperback, hardcover, and Audible editions on a single product page. When all formats are properly linked, a customer viewing your ebook can see that an audiobook edition is also available and purchase it with one click. Without this link, your audiobook exists in isolation, invisible to your existing readership.

Step 1: Publish Your Audiobook Through ACX

If your audiobook is not yet produced, the fastest and most affordable path is to create it with AI narration. AudioAIBook lets you upload your manuscript, choose from six natural AI voices, and download chapter-by-chapter MP3 files ready for distribution. Once you have your audio files, upload them to ACX (Audiobook Creation Exchange), which is Amazon's audiobook platform.

During the ACX upload process, you will enter your book's ISBN, title, and author name. Make sure these match your existing Kindle and print listings exactly. Even small discrepancies in author name spelling can prevent automatic linking.

Step 2: Wait for Audible Approval

After submitting to ACX, your audiobook goes through a quality review that typically takes 2 to 4 weeks. Once approved, it will appear on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes. Amazon's system usually auto-links the audiobook to your existing print and Kindle editions within a few days of going live.

Step 3: Verify the Link on Your Product Page

Go to your book's Amazon product page and look for the format selector near the top. You should see options for Kindle, Paperback, Hardcover (if applicable), and Audible. If all formats appear, the linking is complete.

Step 4: If Auto-Linking Did Not Work

Sometimes Amazon's algorithm fails to connect editions, especially if there are title or author name mismatches. If your audiobook is not linked after a week of being live, take these steps:

  • Log into Author Central at author.amazon.com
  • Go to your Books tab
  • Find the audiobook and click "Add it" or use the search function to locate it by ASIN
  • If it still will not link, contact Author Central support directly and provide the ASINs for both the audiobook and the edition you want it linked to

Step 5: Optimize Your Author Central Profile

While you are in Author Central, take the opportunity to update your profile:

  • Add a professional author photo
  • Write a compelling biography that mentions you have audiobook editions available
  • Add a blog feed or editorial reviews
  • Ensure your bibliography is complete and all editions are linked

Step 6: Use Your Author Page URL in Marketing

Your Author Central page has a customizable URL. Use it in your email signature, social media bios, and book back matter. When readers visit, they will see your complete catalog including audiobooks, which increases the chance of a multi-format purchase.

Common Issues and Fixes

Different Author Names

If your Kindle book says "Jane Smith" and your audiobook says "Jane A. Smith," Amazon may not link them automatically. Use identical author names across all formats.

Multiple Author Pages

Sometimes Amazon creates duplicate author profiles. If you find your audiobooks on a different author page than your print books, use Author Central's merge feature or contact support to consolidate them.

International Marketplaces

Author Central works per marketplace (amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, etc.). You may need to claim your books on each marketplace separately. Check your major markets and ensure the audiobook is linked in all of them.

Getting your audiobook properly linked to your Amazon presence is a small task that pays ongoing dividends. Every reader who discovers your audiobook through your existing listings is a sale you would have otherwise missed.
